For whom?

The learning project aims at minors who are referred by the Kortrijk Juvenile Court. They are youngsters who have committed acts defined as an indictable offence.

What do we do?

Youngsters may be assigned to one of the following programmes:

Social skills training (SOVA)

SOVA training is a 20 hour social skills training programme. The training can be given individually or in groups. The basis of the SOVA training is in the competency model.
After an exploratory meeting, a programme focusing on acquiring new skills and enhancing existing ones is attended.

The Rots en Water programme is primarily a 20 hour group programme.

Throughout numerous physical exercises, mental and social skills are taught and acquired. The exercises are interspersed with short conversations.
The training teaches the youngsters to manage their energy and to use it in a controlled and focused way. By means of physical forms of communication they acquire other, more verbally oriented types of communication.

SELF-CONTROL, SELF-REFLECTION and SELF-CONFIDENCE are core topics of this programme.
